CES 2012: Stylish All-in-One Harman Kardon BDS x70 Series Delivers Theater Experience in Compact Design
HARMAN announced availability of the Harman Kardon BDS x70 Series – highly styled, space-saving home theater systems that remove the guesswork from audio tuning by automatically sensing room size to calibrate acoustics for optimal surround-sound performance. The integrated systems are anchored by a multifunctional receiver that plays three types of DVDs – 3D, Blu-ray and standard – and include an FM tuner.
The BDS home theater system is featured in the Harman Kardon “beautiful/sound” global advertising campaign starring international pop star Jennifer Lopez.
The all-in-one BDS series is distinctive by its elegant design, renowned Harman Kardon sound and an unmatched simplicity for setup and daily use. A powered subwoofer adds deep, satisfying bass to the surround-sound performance – and automatically powers down when the BDS receiver is shut off.
BDS 570 – The anchor of the home theater system, the BDS 570 Blu-ray Disc receiver is the optimal component for building a 5.1-channel loudspeaker arrangement. The BDS 570 includes an on-screen menu to assist with setup, optimize sound and provide simple system navigation. The flexible component can play three types of DVDs – 3D, Blu-ray and standard – and offers BD Live interactivity, an FM tuner, multiple HDMI® inputs, a front-panel USB port that supports audio, video and image playback, and HARMAN’s The Bridge IIIP connectivity for iPhone and iPod.
BDS 770 – The integrated home theater includes the BDS 570, four satellite speakers, a center-channel speaker and a powered subwoofer to create a truly beautiful 5.1 surround-sound listening environment. The BDS 570 was engineered to work specifically with the BDS 770 speakers to create an integrated system and best-in-class value. Four identical satellite speakers maintain a consistent sound from speaker to speaker, creating realistic action sounds at high volumes. In the compact subwoofer, the woofer cone is downward-firing to enhance bass response. Wall mounts and cables are included.
BDS 370 – A 2.1-channel integrated home theater system includes the BDS 270 receiver, two speakers and a powered subwoofer to create a dynamic listening environment for music and movies. The BDS 270 plays three types of DVDs – 3D, Blu-ray, and standard discs – offers BD Live interactivity and an FM tuner, and has multiple HDMI inputs to connect with video and gaming consoles. The BDS 270 receiver includes a front-facing USB port that supports audio, video and image playback and HARMAN’s The Bridge IIIP connectivity for iPhone and iPod. In the compact subwoofer, the woofer cone is downward-firing to enhance bass response. Wall mounts and cables are included.
The Harman Kardon BDS x70 Series will be on display at HARMAN’s booth (#12438) during the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show from Jan.10 through Jan.13.
Pricing and Availability
The BDS 770 system, which includes the BDS 570 receiver, has a minimum advertised price of $1,099. The BDS 370 system, which includes the BDS 270 receiver, has a minimum advertised price of $899.
