Titled as one of the ‘Best Cell Phones of 2008′ and ‘Editor’s Choice’, in addition to receiving industry achievement and innovation awards, the LG Dare has been recognized multiple times, including:

The LG Dare has also been recognized by consumer magazines that report on leading cell phones and products for 2008, as well as holiday gift guides, as having one of the most versatile touch screens, as being feature rich, and as a terrific buy.

The stylish LG Dare is complete with advanced functions, including:

Superior picture and video capability – The LG Dare has a 3.2 megapixel camera/camcorder with a Schneider-Kreuznach lens and LED flash, supported by advanced setting and editing options. The 3.2 megapixel camera/camcorder offers increased resolution and the lens provides for optimal picture quality. SmartPic Technology and manual ISO adjustment are built into the LG Dare, helping to improve image quality. A panoramic function that captures three different images provides a tool to help align images, creating more seamless panoramic photos. Face detection is another of the advanced photo features, offering technology that automatically detects a face when taking a picture for a more focused shot.

The advanced video recording records speeds up to 120 frames per second for slow video playback. The video player supports WMV, MP4, 3GP and 3G2 formats. The LED flash can be set to remain on during video recording to capture video when the environment is dark. Images and video can be uploaded to the Internet using the HTML web browsing functions, offering easy-to-use functions for creating user-generated content on the Internet.

Handwriting recognition and touch screen – The LG Dare offers handwriting recognition for users who wish to add written text to their images or prefer inputting data using the tip of their finger as a stylus. The 3″ touch screen recognizes touch more intuitively and has tactile feedback for advanced touch screen functionality, compared to competitive touch screen phones. With a built-in accelerometer, the phone can be turned horizontally in text messaging mode to reveal a full virtual QWERTY keyboard. The accelerometer also compliments the photo and HTML web browsing functions, allowing for a larger landscape view, which can be navigated using the touch technology.

Advanced music capability – The LG Dare has advanced music technology with a preset sound effect equalizer, the ability to create and manage playlists, a music only mode, a customizable music library to organize music by artist, genre or album, and a multitask function, which offers the ability to hide the music player when sending messages, editing contacts and more. Users can access Verizon’s Rhapsody through the High Speed EVDO connection or upload music onto the phone using the USB cord provided as part of the charging mechanism. A microSD card can be used to store up to 8GB of music.

The LG Dare is available through Verizon Wireless for $129.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement. For more information, please visit LG Mobile Phones website at http://www.lgmobilephones.com/phone.aspx?id=8712 or www.verizonwireless.com.
